Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get involved with Ultimate at Clemson?

Miller Yoho: As a grad student I am lucky they just let me hang out with them.  I have been playing for a while now, but Clemson has made me eat, sleep, and breathe the sport.

How did your team do last year? What was the highlight of your season?

Miller: We made it to Regionals.  Our highlight of the season was winning the ACC title at the Tally Classic.  We beat a great Virginia team and our offense did not have a single turn.  That’s crazy good.

Who is your favorite team to play against?

Miller: Georgia Tech.  Those guys are class acts and great players.  Last year we played several times and a few went down to double game point.

Tell me about your coach and captains. What do they bring to your team?

Miller: Viper [Michael Parks] is the heart of our D line.  Behind his sultry good looks is a defensive machine.  He is ALWAYS around the disc.

James [Cox] is our new captain and he is a freak.  His upside is so huge as a leader and player.  Right now he can play with anybody in the country and he is going to blow someone’s skull off (in a good way) this year.

Ben Slade has moved to coach and he is amazing.  He loves the game and his passion has spread throughout the team.  Plus, his knowledge is second to none.

Are there players on your team who deserve consideration for Callahan, All-Region, or Freshman of the Year?

Miller: James Cox should be up for all region, and freshman of the year belongs to Sam Nottingham.

What player is most likely to make a huge play as a thrower? As a receiver? On D?

Miller: Thrower: Kyle Corley

Receiver: Zach Shuba

D: AJ Holloway

Who’s a player you have to watch more carefully to see how valuable they are to your team?

Miller: That goes to our captain Michael Parks.  He is so fundamentally sound that you will never appreciate how good he really is until he marks you.

How does your team bring new players up to speed?

Miller: Our coach Ben Slade is a benevolent genius.  Plus we use our Fall league and B team to develop guys.  Our B team has really grown over the past two years and we have some great leaders who are committed to developing younger guys.

Without giving too much away, what does your team like to do on offense and on defense?

Miller: On offense we try to score efficiently without dropping the disc.  On defense WE LOVE THE BREAKS AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET THEM.

What has your team been doing this fall to prepare for the spring season?

Miller: Our workouts have been killer so far.  Our team has completely bought into our program and people are kicking butt and getting in great shape.  Plus we are really really good looking.

What tournaments do you plan to attend in the spring? Which one are you most looking forward to?

Miller: Sectionals and Regionals.  Other than that we are still making up our schedule.

What does your team do to get pumped up for a big game?

Miller: We like to eat the babies (it’s a cheer) and listening to Nickelback’s greatest hits.

What song would you pick for the soundtrack to your team’s 2011 highlight video?

Miller: Does Nelly Furtado have a new CD coming out?

What do you think about the USA Ultimate College restructuring?

Miller: We like that it is dividing up divisions.  But we don’t want to travel to Maryland (it’s really far).
