by | September 20, 2011, 8:00am 0

Training professionals and elite players weigh in on your questions about strength, conditioning and becoming a better athlete.

How it works

  1. Every month we’ll feature a new topic and panel.
  2. Submit your questions in the comments and help pick the best by giving a “thumbs up” to your favorites. Deadline for questions is Friday September 23rd @ 5pm PST.
  3. The Skyd Expert Panel will answer the top voted questions.

This week’s panel:

TYLER KINLEY, Captain of Seattle Sockeye

Tyler is captain of Seattle Sockeye, where he is primarily a defensive handler. Known for guarding top handlers and distributing the disc after the turn, Tyler also leads Sockeye’s workouts. Tyler has played Ultimate for Tulane University, University of Michigan, BAT, and currently plays for Sockeye. He has experience coaching and teaching ultimate on youth, college and club levels on multiple continents.

LINDSAY HACK, Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Lindsay is an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist currently working for Duke University with a focus on osteopathic medicine and techniques.  She is the fifth year coach of UNC-CH, the captain of the 2010 Club Women’s Quarter finalists, Phoenix, and the President/Founder of the Triangle Youth Ultimate League (www.tyul.org).  Before discovering Ultimate in 2001, Lindsay ran track and field for Michigan State University while getting her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology.

SAMANTHA MCCLELLAN, Biomedical Engineer and Personal Trainer

Samantha, after being a full time personal trainer for over a year, has stepped back to part time training and is working full time as a biomedical engineer.  At Catholic University she was a full time student-athlete, getting two degrees and competing in four years of NCAA Cross Country, Swimming, and Track and Field.  Ultimate, at the time, was merely a “for-fun” club activity where she played on the men’s team.  Her last year of college, she began playing for DC’s club women’s team, Scandal.  She has played with them ever since.

You’ve put in the work, now how does that translate to gameplay? You’ve got the questions, we’ve got the answers.
