Carla started playing ultimate in 1990 in Tucson, Arizona. She went on to play for a decade with teams in the Bay Area and Dallas with several trips to Regionals and Sectionals in California and Texas, as well as two trips to Nationals in both the Masters (1995) and Grand Masters (2017) Divisions. After a 14 year hiatus to raise her three daughters, she began playing again in San Diego. Since returning to ultimate, she has been coaching youth and coordinating school clinics through the local disc association's youth committee and E.R.I.C. (Early Recognition Is Critical), is on the board of the California Ultimate Association and is a member of the San Diego Womxn in Ultimate.
