Briefly share the history of your school’s Ultimate program. How it started/developed into a competitive program.

Miranda Roth with the steal.

In 1982 the team was created, but for the first year we were known as the Marines. It started out as a womens IM team, but to be a legal team they needed a “few good men” for gender distribution. In 1983 they formed a team for intercolligiate play and the two men who had played with them at home came along to help assist in coaching. The first tournament they played was Sectionals at Carbondale Illinios. The college gave them $50 to rent a van and they drove throught the night to play three games the following day.

What are some of your school’s biggest victories/games in the past decade?

Winning College Nationals in 2000, beating Stanford in semis of College Nationals in 2004.

Who on your roster will be making some of the big plays at the BM?

We expect lots from our seasoned veterans Deb Cussen and Jenn Willson, hopefully connecting to our young upstarts the Snyder sisters (Anna and Julia) and Anna Reed.

Which match-ups are your team most looking forward to?

Fuck Stanford.

Why is your team going to win the BM?

Because we’ll have the most fun, look good doing it and dominate.
