Briefly share the history of your school’s Ultimate program. How it started/developed into a competitive program.

Jimmy Glenn, one of the legends from Old and in the Way started coaching the team in the early 90s, and mamabird found mixed success. Catt Wilson’s senior year of 1998 saw a regional championship and a exit in pool play of nationals. Since that time Mamabird has become a prominent powerhouse of college ultimate and has the longest running streak of nationals appearances including a title in 2004.

What are some of your school’s biggest victories/games in the past decade?

2001 – 15-11 over Oregon in UPA college semi-finals

2003- 15-11 over ohio state in pre-quarters and 15-13 over Illinois in quarters to make semis as a 10 seed.

2004- 15-7 over Berkeley in the UPA college final

2005- 15-13 over Florida to win Centex. UPA college – 15-12 over Wisconsin in Quarters, 15-13 over San Diego in Semis

2007 – 16-14 over USCB at regionals, UPA college nationals 15-10 over Florida in Semis

2008 – 15-11 over Arizona at Regionals, 15-8 over Carleton in Pool Play at UPA College

2009 – UPA college championships – 15-11 over Texas in Semis

2011 – USAU college championships – 12-7 over Pitt in Quarters

Who on your roster will be making some of the big plays at the BM?

Large fast people: Beau, Jolian, Martin, Mac, Hylke, Jimmy.

Which match-ups are your team most looking forward to?

Hoping for a little Beau/Jolian-Chase, Mac/Martin-Nord action when we play Carleton. I know Jimmy and Hylke would love another shot at Colin Camp against Wisconsin. Matty Zemel covering any squirrel on any other team.

Why is your team going to win the BM?

We have athleticism and range. Boom.
