Tyler Glenn: I played club ultimate in Des Moines, Iowa and was recruited by the 2008 IHUC captains. My senior year of HS I went on spring break with the team and was hooked!

Garrett Brander: I played for Team ILL, a high school team from Chicago before being recruited by Iowa in 2007.

Nick Moore: After just playing pick up around campus, the captain of IHUC invited me to come to a summer tournament (cooler) and now two years later I eat, sleep, and breathe Ultimate.

How did your team do last year? What was the highlight of your season?

We finished tied for 9th place at Nationals. The highlight of the season? Making Nationals over Carlton GOP after 2 years of heartbreaking losses that knocked us out.

Garrett Brander, a lot of big-game experience as well as 6+ years of playing Ultimate.
Nick Moore, a great knowledge of the game as well as a calm head to the team.
Tyler Glenn, also a lot of big-game experience and 6+ years of playing Ultimate.

How does your team bring new players up to speed on Ultimate?

We do our best to live and breathe fundamentals for the first few months in the program and regularly return to them.

What does IHUC like to do on offense and on defense?

We run. 2010 IHUC had one of the fastest playing styles in the game.

What has IHUC been doing this fall to prepare for the spring season?

Stressing fundamentals in every aspect of the sport.

What does your team do to get pumped up for a big game?

As a team we know when it’s a big game, getting pumped up starts with the warm-up and rolls on until we’re in it.

What song would you pick for the soundtrack to your team’s 2011 highlight video?

“Mecha love” – Hadouken! (Editors note: You have chosen wisely.)
