Day 1

The Women’s division was split up into two pools of 6 this weekend with Michigan and Northwestern at the top of each.  Similar to the Open pools, the games went according to their seeding except for A Pool’s 4th seeded Loyola beating out 3-seed Southern Illinois.  Michigan was able to assert their dominance over the pool with control over the noticeable wind.  No team scored more than 5 points on them all day.  Northwestern, coached by Ron Kubalanza, seemed to have the same sort of dominance over their pool.  Once again, no team scored more than 5 points on them all day.

Day 2

Sunday for the Women’s bracket started off with the final games of pool play.  Once again, no upsets.  In the 2nd place bracket Indiana and Notre Dame took care of business over Michigan State and Loyola receptively, then Indiana beat out Notre Dame 11-9 to advance.  Meanwhile, Michigan dominated Northwestern in the finals, winning 13-5.  Northwestern would drop to play Indiana and handled them in a 15-4 victory.

From the Great Lake Region, Michigan and Northwestern will be moving on to the Women’s Championships in Boulder.
