There’s one NexGen spot remaining on the 2013 roster, and plenty of speculation as to who it’s going to be. Founder Kevin Minderhout will be in attendance at the College Championships in Madison to get a good look at some prospective players. Missing from that group is Hartford’s Luke DiOrio.
It was easy for me to discount Luke’s skills before watching it. Hartford isn’t exactly in the thick of top tier competition. Nevertheless I was impressed by this former Rhode Island Rampage player’s handling ability and willingness to throw his body around as a big man.
Maybe Luke won’t be riding the bus this summer, but he’s at least worth a look.
