Talkings Points
Have You Experience Chad Larson Lately?
The team from Ames, Iowa is ready to win it. They’ve done so well in the past with hardly any practice, now that they’ve been working hard all season and have the wins to prove their strength, they’re a sure contender for the top spot. Hopefully for CLX, their early losses to District 5 and Drag’n Thrust won’t be repeated in Sarasota. As long as they keep doing what they’re doing, with players like Steph Jacobs making big plays on D and John Misra with his quick throws and agility, they’re sure to snag a top spot.
A Spooky, Spooky Ghost
The Ghosts, District 5, and Slow White: The northeast has proved all season that they will be a tough group of teams to beat. They’ve beaten every team below them at some point, and have had some great matchups within themselves. The Ghosts proved twice at Regionals how they can stay strong to win during close matchups (beat both D5 and Slow White 15-14), and it will be interesting to see how they match up against the rest of the country.
Beary Beary Good
Last year’s champs have got a long way to go to prove they still belong at the top. With barely scraping their way into nationals this year, it’s hard to put them above 7, having lost to most of the teams above them. But let’s not discount them; last year’s second place regionals finish led to a national title, and the Bears are thirsty for seconds. Their ranking above NW rival Blackbird is more due to Blackbird’s roster losses at Nationals (specifically, game-changer Anna “Maddog” Nazarov), than to their own strength.
