- Oh how wrong I was…Southpaw stepped up and silenced the doubters by taking down Florida United, Boost Mobile and Sub Zero to win Pool D. Trey Katzenbach was a strong voice all day long, calling lines and offensive sets for the young team. While they are a force to be reckoned with and though they owned this match-up last year in Sarasota, I have Truck over Southpaw in pre-quarters.
- PoNY is filled with injuries on top of not having Jack Marsh and Dan Heijmen, two of their best cutters. Boost Mobile almost took down Sub Zero and Ring of Fire, and a win over New York would be huge for bid implications.
- Sub Zero looked out of sync all day long…not having EJ as well as Sam O’Brien wasn’t helping. They should be able to take down an incredibly athletic Condors team just because they have more experience and talent with the disc.
- In the end, the top three teams really separated themselves from a majority of the competition (the only exception being Ring of Fire vs. Boost Mobile being a DGP finish). I’m still seeing Ironside vs. Ring in the first semi, but GOAT looked impressive enough to face Chain in the other.
Ironside beats Chain in my Final…what does everyone else think?
