How did your team do last year? What was the highlight of your season?

Graham Coogan: Last year we won our section for the first time in five years and placed third in the Metro East Region. Losing to Cornell in the semi-finals and Pitt in the backdoor finals. The highlight of that season was playing for the last bid to go to nationals against Pitt. I’ll never forget playing on that big of a stage on a field completely ringed by spectators. Seeing teams who are our rivals and who we just eliminated from play, cheering us was the pinnacle of the season.

Without giving too much away, what does your team like to do on offense and on defense?

Graham: Our team likes to run a quick and effective horizontal stack. With our handlers and cutters it provides us with the most opportunities to advance the disc and explore defensive weaknesses. Our defense plays a mix of man and a small variety of zone sets so our opponents are continuously off balance.

Has your team set any goals for this season? What are they?

Graham: Our goal is to put us back into a position to play in the game to go to Nationals. Every year g-dub plays to return to Nationals.

Which team has the best shot at winning the 2011 USA Ultimate College Championships?

Graham: Not to sure which team will have the best shot. I would have to say one of the perennial nationals teams, Carleton College or Florida. Maybe Pitt will have the chance to win it all this year.
