A few more big tournaments in the books, another set of rankings. Thanks to the Free State Classic, Mardi Gras, and the Stanford Invite, we’ve now seen results for every foreseeable contender.
Each set of rankings that we have put out has garnered more discussion than the last, which has us stoked. Remember, our entire goal in starting this site was to generate more informed conversation between different members of the community that are particularly knowledgeable about their corner of the country. Whether you agree, disagree, or just have something to say, please keep it coming!
Finally, a few more things to keep in mind: first, these are mostly reactive rankings, meaning that they’re based on performance so far rather than our subjective opinion on who is better than who. Second, we ran into a few key debates, namely how do deal with Harvard’s up and down results in relation to Florida and Oregon, and How to rank the Virginia, Michigan, SDSU, Minnesota, and Texas group. Finally, the USA Ultimate official rankings are supposed to come out this week, which means that we’ll have a good point of comparison. Like I said, these are meant to be objective, but the fact that there’s no computer element leaves a lot open for discussion, which is the fun part.
