- Claremont (SW1) — Played the toughest schedule, won D2 Centex against good D1 competition
- Bowdoin (NE1) — Undefeated heading into the D3 Championships out of a tough region.
- Valpo (GL1) — Topping the Skyd Rankings all season long
- Carleton-B (NC1) — Reigning national champs, and will likely have the biggest crowd
- Pacific Lutheran (NW1) — They play tough teams all season long, they’re ready for the field of competition in Appleton
- Stonehill (NE2) — Started their season later than many of the other teams, but peaked at the right time
- Elon (AC1) — Working around graduation; they may upset some teams if they keep their full roster there all weekend
- Haverford (OV1) — Good results against D3 competition
- Willamette(NW2) — Coming from a tough region
- Mary Washington (AC2) — Solid performance all season, but a 2 seed out of a 2 bid region
- Princeton (ME1) — Solid results all season, including racking up some big Ws against Smith
- Truman State (SC1) — Consistent improvement in their results
- Grinnell (NC2) — Up and down season
- Lehigh (OV2) — Late bloomers
- St. Olaf (NC3) — Have depth, but did not originally qualify
- Hendrix (SC2) — Haven’t seen much from them since the regular season
