I started playing Ultimate in the early 1990s in New Zealand and was well past my personal peak before I was in a position to afford to head off to any worlds events. Finally in 2006 I managed to get a spot on the NZ Masters team, Tuatara, heading to Perth for WUCC2006, but a knee injury in the lead-up to the event meant my 1.5 games before the strapping tape no longer helped were largely symbolic. Fortunately I had brought a camera with me as well and was shooting along with a couple of others, uploading photos to my (then brand new) website, nzsnaps.com. This was great fun and since then I've been to all the WUGC and WUCC events as an official photographer. I also love shooting other dynamic sports - mostly downhill MTB, but including rallying, jetsprinting, wakeboarding and surfing. As far as I can tell there is absolutely no genuine correlation (inverse or otherwise) between the size of my lenses and the size of anything else of mine!
