Friday Dumps: UMD, Robot Ultimate, Scandal

  • Welcome to Friday, fellow ulti-mates! The weekend is in sight. In celebration, and also because doing real work at work on a Friday sucks, today’s edition of dumps is just a few videos perfect for starting the weekend early. First up, UMD gets flashy.
  • Now-a-days humans are being replaced with machines in every facet of life. Ultimate players are the latest casualties of the digital invasion. But the humans watching the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) seem pretty okay with it. Or so it seems. I honestly have no idea what they’re chanting.
  • When Kenny Dobyns talks ultimate, people listen. And as well they should. With six Open National championships and five World Championships paving the way to his becoming a 2011 USA Ultimate Hall of Fame inductee, Dobyns is no longer in need of any introduction regardless where or when he speaks. Do yourself a favor and catch the entirety of his keynote speech from the UCPC in Boston.

Some here at Skyd…who will remain nameless…find it acceptable to leave you with cheap 80’s music videos over the weekend. Not this week, dear fans. As the cherry on top of this video rich edition of dumps, there’s only two things I know about this gem, his name is Beeman, and he gets UP.  However, some are saying he gets UP…illegally. Scandalous!
